肖培根，1932年生，籍貫上海市，藥用植物學(xué)家，藥用植物研究所研究員，博士生導(dǎo)師。1949年考入廈門大學(xué)生物系，1953年獲得學(xué)士學(xué)位。2002年獲香港浸會大學(xué)名譽博士。1953-1983年工作于中國醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)院藥物研究所。1983年10月被任命為中國醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)院藥用植物研究所首任所長。1986年晉升研究員。1994年12月當選為中國工程院醫(yī)藥衛(wèi)生工程學(xué)部首批院士。現(xiàn)為中國醫(yī)學(xué)科學(xué)院藥用植物研究所名譽所長。

長期致力于中藥資源的調(diào)查和整理、中藥資源的開發(fā)和利用、中藥的國際化與現(xiàn)代化研究。主要研究方向包括藥用植物親緣學(xué)、中藥資源學(xué)和藥食兩用物品研究與開發(fā)。
